Angels and Mentors

Starting a business alone as a student can be really tough. Everything seemed like a new territory and the statement, we don’t know what we don’t know becomes even more apparent.

I have however been very thankful and blessed to have people in my life whom journeyed with me at different phase of the business. From when i needed to pitch, Kris Childress from NUS Enterprise became my mentor and thats the start of my fund raising journey and foray to the many other stage talks.

Starting a software company with no tech background ain’t no easy at all. Losing a CTO and yet trying to sustain my tech product, i would just look up and asked for Angels. And have been very Thankful to have Professor Ben Leong, the computing professor journeying with me to ensure that i don’t buy into some of the solutions that may not be best for the companies as pitched by those tech agencies

Becoming a Solo Founder left in the organisation led me to yet another path of lostness. On the contrary, more experience may not always be the best thing because we become a lot more conscious and I really could not see what the future will be like. As I yet again cried out to God, he brought me even more mentors, friends and coaches.

He knew what I needed even before I knew. As I was starting a training team in my company, he brought me Patrick Cheo, cofounder of Adam Khoo Learning Technologies, as we started doing enterprise solutioning, God brought me Raymond Chou, founder of Infront Consulting APAC, and as i thought about scaling overseas, God brought me Mark Padilla, founder of many companies in Philipines. These mentors came from various countries, background, successful in their own rights but yet so humble.

This startup journey is indeed a marathon, but God never meant for us to run this journey alone. As I have benefitted from the various mentorships, I now mentor companies myself too. And am looking forward to a continual journey of multiplying the value that these angels have brought to me.
